“Let love be without hypocrisy, abhor what is evil; cling to what is good.” (NASB)
STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS
“Let love be without hypocrisy (anupokritos: without dissimulation, undisguised, sincere), abhor (apostugeo: dislike, have a horror of) what is evil (poneros: annoyances, hardships, perils, wicked); cling (kollao: join yourself with, cleave, keep company, be fastened) to what is good (agathos: well, beneficial, useful, salutary, pleasant, agreeable, joyful, happy, excellent, distinguished, upright, honorable).”
SUMMARY
Let love be undisguised and sincere, have a horror of what is wicked and evil; join yourself with what is good.
MEDITATION
Today, may we, the Body of Christ, love as we’ve been loved – unconditionally and without limitations. May we despise and be disgusted by the wicked and evil ways and systems of this world. May we be fastened to what is honorable, pleasant, beneficial and excellent. LORD, show us how to live this verse.
