Psalm 40:4

“How blessed is the man who has made the LORD his trust, and has not turned to the proud, nor to those who lapse into falsehood.” (NASB)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

“How blessed is the man who has made the LORD his trust (mibtach: confidence, sure, hope, act of confiding, security), and has not turned to the proud (rahab: defiant), nor to those who lapse into falsehood (kazab: lying, deceitful, false, deceptive things).”

SUMMARY

How blessed is the man who has made the LORD his security and confidence and has not turned to the proud, nor to those who lapse into deceitful and deceptive ways.

MEDITATION

Wake o’ sleeper! Many are fast to say how they want to be blessed of the LORD, but few seem to biblically explain the criteria to become blessed. Today we see a couple of examples – place your complete trust and reliance upon the LORD and avoid the counsel of the lying, proud ones. Take new steps today to establish your absolute security in God – He is truly is all you need. Although we are to lean on others, He should be the primary source for all wisdom, strength and authority.
