John 12:46

“I have come as Light into the world, so that everyone who believes in Me will not remain in darkness.” (NASB)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

“I have come as Light (phos: brightness; truth and its knowledge together with the spiritual purity associated with it; that which is exposed to the view of all) into the world, so that everyone who believes (pisteuo: commit to, to trust, be committed unto, to be persuaded of, to credit, place confidence in) in Me will not remain (meno: abide, dwell, endure, continue) in darkness (skotia: ignorance of divine things and its associated wickedness).”

SUMMARY

I have come as an illuminating Light into the world, so that everyone who places their confidence in Me and believes will not continue to dwell in ignorance and wickedness.

MEDITATION

It is time for the Body to embrace the Light and leave behind all of the ways of wickedness. If you know Jesus Christ, you are now in Light, so darkness and its deeds no longer have hold of you. You are responsible to rid your life of any and all areas of darkness that you may choose to dwell in. How does one know what is darkness and what is light? This verse tells us that those in Christ, when they place their trust in Him are no longer ignorant of this realm of darkness. I’d encourage you to step back and look at the fruit of your life. Are you reproducing the Light that is Christ or darkness, which is your flesh? The simple fact is, if we truly believe in Him, we will not be found in darkness. So, I believe He is asking us the tough question, "Do you really believe in Me or not?" Today, make every effort to walk in the Light and leave all darkness further behind you!
