2 Timothy 1:7

“For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.” (NASB)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

“For God has not given us a spirit of timidity (deilia: fear, cowardice), but of power (dunamis: mighty work, strength) and love (agape: charity, affection, good will, love, benevolence) and discipline (sophronismos: an admonishing or calling to soundness of mind, to moderation and self control).”

SUMMARY

God has not given us a spirit of a coward who is fearful, but one of mighty strength, affectionate love and self control.

MEDITATION

Power, strength, charity, affection, love, discipline, soundness of mind, self control - do you realize that these are the characteristics of the spirit that God has given you? When you go throughout your day today, walk in the reality of who you are in Christ. Stop giving even an ounce of attention to fear and temporal concerns. It is time that the Body of Christ stands up and walks in the Spirit of the Christ... will you?
