Hebrews 10:35

“Therefore, do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward.” (NASB)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

“Therefore, do not throw away (apoballo: cast away, throw off) your confidence (parrhesia: boldness, freedom in speaking, unreservedness, without concealment, free and fearless, cheerful courage, assurance), which has a great reward (misthapodosia: payment, recompence).”

SUMMARY

Don’t throw away your boldness and cheerful courage that has a great reward.

MEDITATION

Of course we know that the author of Hebrews was referencing running the race to the end in this area of Scripture. He urged them to remember what they had endured and encouraged them to hold fast to their freedom and assurance, for no one could ever take that from them. It is the same for us today. We must boldly speak of what we have seen, no matter what the response or consequence. There is a reward promised for those who hold on to the end.
