Psalm 103:19

“The LORD has established His throne in the heavens, And His sovereignty rules over all.” (NASB)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

“The LORD has established (kuwn: prepared, readied, fixed, set, fashioned) His throne (kicce': seat of honor, royal dignity, authority, power) in the heavens, And His sovereignty (malkuwth or malkuth: kingdom, reign, royalty, realm, estate) rules (mashal: reigns, has dominion, governors) over all.”

SUMMARY

The LORD has established His seat of authority and power in the heavens and His royal Kingdom has dominion over and governs all.

MEDITATION

I recently attended a large symphony concert with hundreds of musicians and choruses. Before the program starts, many are warming up their instruments and all is a mess, audibly speaking. Then the conductor comes onto the stage, takes his position and everything changes. The baton is raised, everyone comes to attention and beautiful music is created. I see the LORD in this example as it is exactly what He does as well. He is established as LORD of all and there is no disputing that He is in control. Many have such a hard time with this, feeling it is not fair to be “governed” by an almighty God. I see it just the opposite – who else should be in control? Me? You? Can we rule and govern entire galaxies? Today, let God be the Conductor of all that is your life. Simply take your seat, be the instrument and allow Him to play the beautiful song that He created you for.
