"Does not wisdom call, and understanding lift up her voice?” (NASB)
STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS
"Does not wisdom call (qara': cry out, proclaim, invite, utter a loud sound), and understanding lift up her voice (qowl or qol: noise, sound, thunderings, proclamation)?”
SUMMARY
Does not wisdom cry out with a loud sound and understanding lift up her proclamation?
MEDITATION
It seems to me that one must turn a deaf ear to wisdom in order to not heed her call, for she is crying out. Metaphorically, I think of street traffic, car alarms, trains, etcetera. All are legitimate sounds that utter a voice of their own yet, over time, one learns to tune them out. I wonder, is it not the same with ones disinterest in the invitations of wisdom? Today, I encourage you to attune your ears to the cries of wisdom. She is to be prized and is a gift from the LORD.
