Psalm 96:9

“O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness: fear before Him, all the earth.” (KJV)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

“O worship (shachah: bow, bow down, reverence, fall down, stoop, crouch, prostrate oneself) the LORD (Yehovah: GOD, JEHOVAH - "the existing One"; proper name of the one true God) in the beauty (hadarah: honor, adornment, glory, holy adornment - of public worship) of holiness (qodesh: dedicated, hallowed, consecrated, apartness, sacredness, separateness): fear (chuwl: tremble, pain, travail, dance - to twist or whirl) before (paniym: in the presence of; sight) Him, all the earth ('erets: nations, whole earth - as opposed to a part).”

SUMMARY

Bow down in reverence before the Lord God as one adorned in consecration and holiness. Tremble in His presence all peoples of the earth.

MEDITATION

Recently, my wife and I (and eight or so others) spent several weeks looking at what God desires from us in regards to worship. We spent a considerable amount of time analyzing the scene that John witnessed and chronicled in Revelation. All creatures bow in reverence to a holy God. They tremble before Him and marvel at His greatness day and night. If we want to see Heaven come to Earth, we must be clothed in “the beauty of holiness” and spend time bowing in reverence before the one true God. Today, form your entire day around worship of the Father – don’t make it an “add-on” to what you’re already doing, make it your primary focus. Is He worthy of your sacred reverence?
