"The words of the wise heard in quietness are better than the shouting of a ruler among fools.” (NASB)
STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS
"The words (dabar: speech, sayings, utterances) of the wise (chakam: learned, shrewd, prudent) heard (shama`: understood, shown, declared, discerned, perceived, reported) in quietness (Nachath: rest, lighting, quiet attitude, descent of judgment) are better than the shouting (za`aq: outcry, cry of distress, clamour) of a ruler (mashal: one who reigns, governors, exercises dominion and power) among fools (keciyl: foolish, stupid fellow, simpleton, arrogant one).”
SUMMARY
A wise and prudent one’s words spoken with a quiet attitude are better than the clamoring cries of a powerful one among arrogant fools.
MEDITATION
Oh to be found a friend of Wisdom. She is surely great to be obtained and heeded. Take some time to read a chapter or two of Proverbs today and see what the Word says that Wisdom is speaking. Make every effort to be found as one speaking wisely in the quiet places today.
