2 Corinthians 5:7

"For we walk by faith, not by sight” (KJV)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

For we walk (peripateo: go about, be occupied, make one's way, progress, conduct one's self) by faith (the conviction that God exists and is the creator and ruler of all things, the provider and bestower of eternal salvation through Christ; a strong conviction or belief that Jesus is the Messiah, through whom we obtain eternal salvation in the kingdom of God; the religious beliefs of Christians; belief with the predominate idea of trust in God) , not by sight (eidos: external or outward appearance) .”

SUMMARY

For we go about and conduct ourselves by faith that God is in control, not by the way things look to my natural eyes.

MEDITATION

Today is another opportunity to live putting your complete trust and reliance upon the Lord. Forget how things look on the outside - whether pleasant or discouraging. One guided by faith is not moved by circumstance and outward appearances, for God is always sure and faithful. Today, place your hope and trust in Him alone and begin establishing a life that is completely guided by faith in Him.

Revelation 21:7

"He who overcomes will inherit these things, and I will be his God and he will be My son.” (NASB)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

"He who overcomes (nikao: conquers, prevails, gets the victory) will inherit (kleronomeo: be heir, obtain by inheritance, to receive the portion assigned to one, to become partaker of) these things (pass: all), and I will be his God and he will be My son (huios: child; of those whom God esteems as sons, whom He loves, protects and benefits above others) .”

SUMMARY

He who conquers and gains the victory will receive all of these things (see chapter 21). I will be His Lord and God and he will be My highly esteemed son that I will love, protect and benefit above all others.

MEDITATION

Are you living a daily life that is set on finishing in victory? Countless Believers eek through each day just doing the best they can to ward off the world and the devil's schemes with a rubber sword held in a shaking hand, expecting defeat. May it not be so for you today! Walk boldly as a mature son and daughter of the Most High. Begin to act like you are who God says you are and live an overcoming, conquering victorious life in Him!

Acts 13:52

"And the disciples were continually filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.” (NASB)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

"And the disciples were continually filled (pleroo: complete, made full, abounding in, liberally supplied) with joy (chara: joyfulness, gladness) and with the Holy Spirit.”

SUMMARY

The disciples were always found to be abounding with joy, gladness and the Holy Spirit (at the referred to time anyway).

MEDITATION

I recently can't seem to shake the fact that a true follower of Christ will be overrun with joy. Joy is deeper than an emotion and is not always shown as a "mood". Joy goes deep and is rooted in the Lord's love for us. What does it look like for you to be abounding in joy? Are you filled completely with the Holy Spirit? Today, pour out yourself and ask the Lord to pour in... to the fullest.

Psalm 100:2

"Serve the LORD with gladness; come before His presence with singing.” (KJV)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

"Serve (`abad: work, worship, labor) the LORD with gladness (simchah: joy, mirth, rejoicing, pleasure); come before His presence (paniym: face) with singing (renanah: a joyful voice, triumphing, shout for joy).”

SUMMARY

Worship and labor for the Lord with rejoicing; come before His face with joyful shouts of triumph.

MEDITATION

How have you approached God today? Have you approached Him with great shouts of joy? Have you ever truly shouted and rejoiced with your mouth the goodness of the Lord? He truly has done great things for us - it's time we make it known.

Ezekiel 14:6

“Therefore say to the house of Israel, 'Thus says the Lord GOD, Repent and turn away from your idols and turn your faces away from all your abominations.'” (NASB)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

“Therefore say to the house of Israel, 'Thus says the Lord GOD, Repent (shuwb: turn, turn back, turn away, restore, render, recompense; to show a turning away) and turn away ("shuwb" again) from your idols and turn your faces (paniym: before, presence, sight, countenance) away from all your abominations (tow`ebah: abominable things, disgusting things, abomination, unclean, mixed, wickedness) .'”

SUMMARY

Tell My people that I say to them, "Turn away from all that you put before Me and turn your gaze away from all of your wicked and disgusting practices."

MEDITATION

Overall, why do you do what you do? What motivates you? Is it selfish ambition, wordly gain and personal preference? Is it to please the Lord with every thought and decision that you have before you? It's likely a little of both. Today, ask the Holy Spirit to reveal any unclean idol that your gaze might be upon. All else is quickly passing away - the things that are of the Kingdom of the Lord alone will remain forever.

2 Corinthians 10:17

"He who boasts, let him boast in the Lord." (NASB)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

"He who boasts (kauchaomai: rejoice; to glory on account of, or in, a thing), let him boast in the Lord."

SUMMARY

May the one who rejoices and glories over anything, boast in the Lord alone.

MEDITATION

How simple, right? Today, when an opportunity comes around to put your accomplishments, successes or good attributes in the limelight, turn that light onto Jesus. He is the Author of every good thing within us all - deserving of our praise.

Psalm 145:18

“The LORD is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth.” (NASB)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

“The LORD is near (qarowb: nigh, at hand, neighbor, next, kin; personal relationship) to all who call (qara': utter a loud sound, to call unto, cry for help, to summon, invite) upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth ('emeth: right, faithfully, assuredly, faithful, firmness, faithfulness, truth, sureness, reliability, stability, continuance, reliableness) .”

SUMMARY

You'll have a close, personal relationship with the Lord when you faithfully and assuredly cry out to Him for help.

MEDITATION

Is the Lord near you today? Can you feel His presence and companionship throughout your days? If not, cry out to Him - seek Him. If you know Him and are known by Him, He should not be some distant Being that you randomly call upon now and then. Cultivate a moment by moment interaction with Him today.

John 10:11

“I am the good shepherd, and I know My own and My own know Me.” (NASB)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

“I am the good (kalos: better, honest, beautiful, handsome, excellent, eminent, choice, surpassing, precious, useful, suitable, commendable, admirable) shepherd (poimen: he to whose care and control others have committed themselves, and whose precepts they follow; the presiding officer, manager, director), and I know (ginosko: perceive, understand, acquainted with) My own (My sheep) and My own know (ginosko: perceive, understand, acquainted with) Me.”

SUMMARY

I am the most suitable, excellent Shepherd and I am acquainted with my own sheep - My own sheep are also acquianted with Me.

MEDITATION

Intimacy with Jesus - the goal, purpose and definition of our salvation. If you don't have intimacy with the Shepherd, I hesitate to believe that you've ever truly encountered Him for all that He is. Today, seek above all else to get to know the voice of your Shepherd. Learn how He moves, how He leads. Develop an intimate following of Him today.

Proverbs 4:25

“Let your eyes look directly ahead and let your gaze be fixed straight in front of you.” (NASB)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

“Let your eyes (`ayin: sight, mental qualities, mental and spiritual faculties, spring, fountain) look (nabat: behold, consider, regard, see, respect, pay attention to) directly ahead and let your gaze be fixed straight in front of (yashar: direct, right, well, fitted, upright, level, upright, just, lawful, smooth, straightforward) you.”

SUMMARY

Let your mental and spiritual eyes stay fixed straight ahead - focused on the direct way in front of you.

MEDITATION

Today, don't be swayed to the left or to the right. Keep your gaze fixed on heavenly things. The more you see the things that are above, the less you'll be enamored with the things below. Today is the day to see and live like you truly are seated now in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.

Galatians 4:9

“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” (KJV)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

“And let us not be weary (ekkakeo/egkakeo: faint, utterly spiritless, wearied out, exhausted) in well (kalos: good, better, honest, beautiful, handsome, excellent, eminent, choice, surpassing, precious, useful, suitable, commendable, admirable) doing: for in due (idios: pertaining to one's self, one's own) season (kairos: time, opportunity, measure of time, fixed and definite time, opportune or seasonable time, the right time) we shall reap (therizo: harvest), if we faint (ekluo: loose, unloose, dissolve, weaken, relax, exhaust, enfeebled through exhaustion, grow weak, grow weary, become faint hearted) not.”

SUMMARY

Let us not be wearied out in excellent doing, for we shall reap a harvest in our own personal season, if we don’t grow weary and exhausted.

MEDITATION

Whose strength are you operating in today? Attempting to walk as a follower of Christ within your own power and efforts is futile. Today I challenge you to rest in the power of Jesus that is within you. Everyone’s seasons of harvest are at different times and places – knowing this, do not allow yourself to grow weak and weary. May we be a people that press on and never allow the excellent and admirable things of God to grow old.

Isaiah 12:3

“Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.” (KJV)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

“Therefore with joy (sasown: gladness, mirth, rejoicing, exultation) shall ye draw water (mayim: watersprings, washing, refreshment) out of the wells (ma`yan: fountain, springs) of salvation (yeshuw`ah: help, deliverance, health, saving, welfare, prosperity, victory).”

SUMMARY

With gladness and rejoicing shall you get refreshment and cleansing from the wellsprings of salvation.

MEDITATION

Today, whether you realize it or not, you will “draw water” from some well. It may be from someone else’s well, it may be from a worldly well, but you will draw your necessities of your day from somewhere. It’s my prayer that you draw out of the well that contains victory, healing, prosperity and every other good thing that your spiritual man needs. Origin is everything - draw all that you need today from God’s well of salvation.

1 John 2:15

"Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him." (NASB)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

"Do not love (agapao: welcome, entertain, be fond of, love dearly, well pleased with) the world (kosmos: earthly constitution, order, government, world affairs, the aggregate of things earthly) nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love (agape: charity, dear, brotherly, affection, good will, benevolence) of the Father is not in (en: with, among, through) him."

SUMMARY

Do not welcome and love worldly order, nor the things that are within it. If anyone is well pleased with worldly matters, the affectionate love of the Father is not in and through him.

MEDITATION

Why do we so easily follow the things of this world that are quickly passing away? Jobs, money, possessions, approval from others… things that are all fine and necessary - to an extent. But, when we develop an unhealthy love for them, we can no longer possess the love of the Father. Today, begin to cut off your ties to this carnal world. The ways and traditions of men, items and events that only cater to your flesh… put them to death and allow the agape love of the Father to move in.

Proverbs 20:27

"The spirit of man is the lamp of the LORD, searching all the innermost parts of his being." (NASB)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

"The spirit (neshamah: breath) of man is the lamp (niyr/nir: candle, light; meaning to glisten) of the LORD, searching (chaphas: test, be exposed, to be searched for, sought out) all the innermost parts (cheder: chambers, inward parts) of his being (beten: belly, womb, body, seat of mental faculties)."

SUMMARY

The spirit of man is the light and lamp of the Lord, exposing the innermost chambers of what makes him who he is.

MEDITATION

In Psalms David said “Lord, You have searched me and you know me.” God knows your innermost thoughts on all matters. He knows where your motivations and intentions lie. Today, with the help of the Holy Spirit, search your innermost places and lay yourself bare before the Lord. Willingly submit the inner chambers of your life to Him. What is growing in your "spiritual womb" today?

Friday, July 18, 2008

Psalm 148:13

“Let them praise the name of the LORD, For His name alone is exalted; His glory is above earth and heaven.” (NASB)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

“Let them praise (halal: glory, boast, commend, celebrate; make a fool of oneself, act madly) the name of the LORD, For His name (shem: renown, fame, reputation, glory) alone is exalted (sagab: high, excellent); His glory (howd: honor, majesty, beauty, comeliness, splendor) is above earth and heaven.”

SUMMARY

Let all of Creation celebrate foolishly the name of the Lord, for His renown alone is excellent; His majesty and splendor is above every other thing.

MEDITATION

As my wife and I walked this morning, I quietly marveled at how the birds sing each and every morning at sunrise. As the light barely begins to appear on the horizon, they’re awakened and begin to move about, singing. Without a doubt, I believe that they’re praising God. I felt so convicted as I reflected on how many a morning comes and goes that I wake up and start my day without praising Him. Will I, one who has personally experienced the joy of the Lord’s salvation, be out-praised by the rest of Creation today? Will you?

Matthew 11:30

“For My yoke is easy and My burden is light." (NASB)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

For My yoke (zugos: to join; Christ's commands must be submitted to, though easier to be kept) is easy (chrestos: kindly, better, goodness, gracious, useful, manageable, mild, pleasant (as opposed to harsh, hard, bitter) and My burden (phortion: load, burdensome rites, obligations Christ lays upon his followers) is light (elaphros: light in weight, quick, agile)."

SUMMARY

Joining with Jesus is useful and more manageable, for the obligations that He places on you, His follower, are light and fashioned to be easy to move about in.

MEDITATION

A good friend once pointed out to me the simple fact that Jesus didn’t say that there would be no yoke and no burden – it’s just that His is easy and light. We can be “tied to” the world, dragged here and there in burdensome bondage, or we can be yoked with Christ – One who desires to move us into eternal matters where He can help bear our burdens. Today, choose to put your spiritual head through the yoke of Jesus Christ. Submit to His leading for He knows the best path for you to take.

Psalm 96:9

“O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness: fear before Him, all the earth.” (KJV)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

“O worship (shachah: bow, bow down, reverence, fall down, stoop, crouch, prostrate oneself) the LORD (Yehovah: GOD, JEHOVAH - "the existing One"; proper name of the one true God) in the beauty (hadarah: honor, adornment, glory, holy adornment - of public worship) of holiness (qodesh: dedicated, hallowed, consecrated, apartness, sacredness, separateness): fear (chuwl: tremble, pain, travail, dance - to twist or whirl) before (paniym: in the presence of; sight) Him, all the earth ('erets: nations, whole earth - as opposed to a part).”

SUMMARY

Bow down in reverence before the Lord God as one adorned in consecration and holiness. Tremble in His presence all peoples of the earth.

MEDITATION

Recently, my wife and I (and eight or so others) spent several weeks looking at what God desires from us in regards to worship. We spent a considerable amount of time analyzing the scene that John witnessed and chronicled in Revelation. All creatures bow in reverence to a holy God. They tremble before Him and marvel at His greatness day and night. If we want to see Heaven come to Earth, we must be clothed in “the beauty of holiness” and spend time bowing in reverence before the one true God. Today, form your entire day around worship of the Father – don’t make it an “add-on” to what you’re already doing, make it your primary focus. Is He worthy of your sacred reverence?

Colossians 1:15

“(Jesus) is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.”
(NASB)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

“(Jesus) is the image (eikon: figure, likeness) of the invisible (aoratos: unseen, or that which can not be seen) God, the firstborn (prototokos: first begotten) of all creation (ktisis: all established things, beings and creatures).”

SUMMARY

Jesus is the exact likeness of the unseen God. He was the firstborn of everything that ever was, is now and ever will be.

MEDITATION

How do you see God? You look to His Son. Do you understand the depth and mystery of your Saviour Jesus Christ? He was before all – He came into our realm (earth) and was made visible. Today, personally ask Him to reveal to you all that He is. See Him as absolute Lord of Lords, established before all of creation.

Romans 12:18

“If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men.” (NASB)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

“If possible, so far as it depends (ek: denoting origin; the point whence action or motion proceeds; from, out of) on you, be at peace (eireneuo: have peace, live peaceably, live in peace, make peace, cultivate or keep peace, harmony) with all men.”

SUMMARY

When it depends on you, cultivate, and live in peace and harmony with every human being that you meet.

MEDITATION

Over the last few years I’ve personally seen how a simple desire to live peaceably really does stand out. In a world that shouts of revenge and getting your way, let us live as Paul encouraged us to. May we, the children of God, be the humble peacemakers that point all men to Jesus.

Psalm 9:2

"I will be glad and exult in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High.” (NASB)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

"I will be glad (samach: rejoice, joy, joyful, merry) and exult (`alats: rejoice, joyful triumph) in You; I will sing praise (zamar: sing psalms, sing forth, make music) to Your name (shem: renown, fame, reputation, glory), O Most High ('elyown: higher, highest, above, uppermost, name of God).”

SUMMARY

I will rejoice and triumph in You; I will sing praises about Your great renown and glory, O God who is above every other.

MEDITATION

Have you praised the Lord yet today? I don’t mean attending a worship service or putting a CD in – I mean a joyful declaration that God is Most High that originates deep within your love for Him. Be joyful! Rejoice! Declare His great glory today!

Philippians 1:21

"For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.” (NASB)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

"For to me, to live (zao: alive, lively, to live, breathe, be among the living; to have true life worthy of the name; active, blessed, endless in the kingdom of God; living water, having vital power in itself and exerting the same upon the soul, to be in full vigor; to be fresh, strong, efficient, active, powerful, efficacious) is Christ and to die is gain (kerdos: an advantage).”

SUMMARY

For me, to be actively alive, full of vigor and power in the kingdom of God is Christ and to die is an advantage!

MEDITATION

Life with Christ - how incredible it really is! Does it feel like drudgery or duty to you? It shouldn’t! Paul surely knew that all aside from Jesus was meaningless and a life of experiencing His life-giving power was an amazing one. Believers, let’s live like we possess what we really do in Jesus. May we live a joyful and powerful life today!

Ecclesiastes 9:17

"The words of the wise heard in quietness are better than the shouting of a ruler among fools.” (NASB)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

"The words (dabar: speech, sayings, utterances) of the wise (chakam: learned, shrewd, prudent) heard (shama`: understood, shown, declared, discerned, perceived, reported) in quietness (Nachath: rest, lighting, quiet attitude, descent of judgment) are better than the shouting (za`aq: outcry, cry of distress, clamour) of a ruler (mashal: one who reigns, governors, exercises dominion and power) among fools (keciyl: foolish, stupid fellow, simpleton, arrogant one).”

SUMMARY

A wise and prudent one’s words spoken with a quiet attitude are better than the clamoring cries of a powerful one among arrogant fools.

MEDITATION

Oh to be found a friend of Wisdom. She is surely great to be obtained and heeded. Take some time to read a chapter or two of Proverbs today and see what the Word says that Wisdom is speaking. Make every effort to be found as one speaking wisely in the quiet places today.

Thursday, July 10, 2008

Romans 10:13

"Whoever will call upon the name of the Lord will be saved." (NASB)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

"Whoever will call upon (epikaleomai: appeal unto, cry out, summon, invoke, call upon for one's self; call upon by pronouncing the name of Jehovah) the name of the Lord (kurios: he to whom a person or thing belongs, about which he has power of deciding; master, lord, possessor, owner; one who has control of the person, the master) will be saved (sozo: made whole, healed, kept safe and sound, rescued from danger or destruction)."

SUMMARY

Anyone who cries out to invoke the Lord for himself and surrenders his life for Him to become his Master will be made whole, well, healed, kept safe and sound and rescued from danger and destruction.

MEDITATION

If we only understood the depth of our salvation! Thousands, if not more Christians have no concept or understanding of the meaning of salvation given to us by Jesus. He did not come for us to recite a prayer and then go about our business. His salvation changes everything within us and entirely rearranges our future… if we understand what really takes place. I am "saved" when, each day, I call upon Him and make Him Lord of my life. Today, take time to look into what Jesus has truly done for you at salvation. See how deep and how wide it really is.

2 Timothy 1:7

“For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.” (NASB)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

“For God has not given us a spirit of timidity (deilia: fear, cowardice), but of power (dunamis: mighty work, strength) and love (agape: charity, affection, good will, love, benevolence) and discipline (sophronismos: an admonishing or calling to soundness of mind, to moderation and self control).”

SUMMARY

God has not given us a spirit of a coward who is fearful, but one of mighty strength, affectionate love and self control.

MEDITATION

To those who know Him, and are known by Him, He has given courage, power, love and the ability to be disciplined followers of Christ. As you go throughout your day today, remember, what and whom shall you fear? Go forth in His power, His great love and allow Jesus within you to teach you self control.

Psalm 51:10

“Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” (NASB)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

“Create (bara: shape, form, fashion) in me a clean (tahor: pure) heart (leb: mind, understanding), O God, and renew (chadash: repair, make a new) a steadfast (kuwn: right, fixed, established) spirit (ruwach: wind, breath, mind) within me (qereb: seat or faculty of thought and emotion).”

SUMMARY

Form within me a clean and pure heart O God. Make new a right spirit deep in the innermost part of me.

MEDITATION

God is Creator - He exudes newness of life. His desire is for you to be pure and clean before Him, to the deepest part of your being. Allow Him to mold and fashion you today and walk as a child of God, in His image.

Matthew 11:28

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.” (KJV)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

“Come to Me, all you who labor (kopiao: toil, grow weary, tired, exhausted – as with toil or burdens or grief) and are heavy-laden (phortizo: burdened upon, loaded down), and I will give you rest (anapauo: refresh, to cause or permit one to cease from any movement or labor in order to recover and collect his strength; to keep quiet, of calm and patient expectation).”

SUMMARY

Come to me all who have become exhausted, weary and loaded down with burdens. I will give you refreshing in order to collect your strength.

MEDITATION

Within Jesus lies the answer to our every need. We all get distracted by the cares of earthly life, but it’s how we respond that it key. As you start a new week today, be mindful throughout to go to Him and find your rest. His rest is perfect, His peace and refreshing, beyond compare.

Sunday, July 6, 2008

Psalm 139:23

"Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me and know my thoughts." (KJV)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

"Search (chaqar: investigate, seek out, examine) me, O God, and know (yada: perceive, understand, consider) my heart (lebab: inner man, mind, will, soul, understanding, conscience); try (bachan: examine, prove, scrutinize) me and know my thoughts (sar`aph: anxious, disquieting thoughts)."

SUMMARY

Examine me and consider my inner man, scrutinize me and know my disquieting thoughts.

MEDITATION

Do you really desire to have God deeply examine your inner man? What will He find when He looks there? He does look there if you ask Him. Are you walking in a close enough relationship with Him where He can try and prove you? And are you confident that once He has tried and proven you, you will be found pleasing in His sight in what He has found? Take time today to search your inner man and see what may be found there.

John 15:19

“If you were of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, because of this the world hates you.”

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

“If you were of (ek: from, out of) the world (kosmos: world governement, order), the world would love (phileo: approve of; like; treat affectionately or kindly, welcome, befriend) its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose (eklegomai: to pick out) you out of the world, therefore (touto: because of, for this cause) the world hates (miseo: pursues with hatred, detests) you.”

SUMMARY

If I were still living according to the order of this carnal world, I would be approved of and befriended by it. Because God picked me up out of this world, it pursues me in anger and detests me.

MEDITATION

Am I living a life worthy of Jesus Christ’s sacrifice for me? Am I ruffling feathers and going against the grain? Do I find myself being agreed with by nearly everyone that I come in contact with or am I pursued and detested by the world? If I’m the man of the hour here on earth, then, according to this Scripture, I am still of the carnal world. Stand up and stand out today! Proclaim the Lordship of Jesus Christ without wavering!

2 Corinthians 9:10

“Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness”

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

“Now He who supplies (epichoregeo: ministers, furnishes) seed (sperma: something sown, implication of offspring, a remnant) to the sower (speiro: one who scatters and seeds) and bread for food will supply and multiply (plethuno: abound, increase) your seed for sowing and increase the harvest (gennema: fruit, that which has been born, offspring, prolonged growth and enlargement) of your righteousness (dikaiosune: state of him who is as he ought to be, righteousness, the condition acceptable to God; the doctrine concerning the way in which man may attain a state approved of God; integrity, virtue, purity of life, rightness, correctness of thinking feeling, and acting).”

SUMMARY

God who supplies the necessary seed to sow as well as the food for us to eat, will also increase our offspring, spiritually speaking, as it is righteousness in His eyes that is the harvest.

MEDITATION

Do you find yourself seeking your Supplier? Do you truly believe that God will actually work with you to bring about a harvest of righteousness? We are His “representatives” here on the earth and He wants to supply His people with His righteousness. Take some time today to examine what stage your field of righteousness is in. Is the field full of beautiful mature stalks? Is it at least beginning to sprout up and be seen or do you need to go out to the field and sow some seed? Today, in the midst of your day, seek to work this field in order to be found pleasing to God and capable to produce holy offspring unto Him.

* Thanks Kay

Psalm 46:10

"Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth." (KJV)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

Be still (raphah: let drop, abandon, relax, refrain, forsake, let go, let alone, be quiet), and know (yada`: consider, perceive ) that I am God (elohiym: judge, mighty, GOD): I will be exalted (ruwm: extolled, raised high, lifted up) among the heathen (ruwm: all nations and peoples), I will be exalted in the earth (erets: whole earth, as opposed to a part).

SUMMARY

I need to quiet myself and forsake all of the distractions of life and intently consider that God is Lord of all. He will be lifted high throughout the entire earth as the mighty God that He is.

MEDITATION

Be still? What a glorious concept! But what does that really look like? How do you daily abandon the demanding cares of this life and rest in the reality that God is exalted? If you have no idea or have just allowed busy-ness to creep in, make time today to forsake your agenda and recognize God as Lord of the entire earth.

1 Peter 5:6

“Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time.” (NASB)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

Therefore, humble yourselves (tapeinoo: lay low, reduce, lower) under the mighty (krataios: mighty power) hand (cheir: activity, power; upholding and preserving; determining and controlling the destinies of men) of God, that He may exalt (hupsoo: lift up on high, raise to the very summit of opulence, prosperity, dignity, honor and happiness) you at the proper time (kairos: season, opportunity; a fixed, definite, opportune or seasonable time).

SUMMARY

I must take action to lower myself and submit to the mighty and powerful hand of God. I must acknowledge, embrace and surrender to the fact that He controls my destiny. When I do so, He will be the One to lift me high in the season that He determines to do so.

MEDITATION

Are you living a life to push your own agenda? Do you find yourself often striving to please men and to project a self-image that elevates people’s view of you? Today, I encourage you to do as I’m encouraging myself – to humbly take the lower position. Be concerned with endorsing and promoting one thing, Jesus Christ. It is God’s responsibility to lift me high in His time and His season. Surrender to it today, for God’s promises are true.

Jeremiah 29:11

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you”, saith the LORD, “thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” (KJV)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

“For I know (yada: perceive) the thoughts (machashabah: intention, purpose) that I think (chashab: devise, imagine) toward you”, saith the LORD, “thoughts of peace (shalowm: welfare, prosperity, health) and not of evil (ra`: calamity, wickedness, mischief, trouble) to give you an expected (tiqvah: hope, expectation) end ('achariyth: latter, reward).”

SUMMARY

God is speaking to the exiles in Babylon, informing them that He is in control. He reminds them that He is with them and even goes on to tell them of many specific events that are to come. It is the same for us today - God is never confused or caught off guard. His thoughts, His plans are sure and cannot ever be shaken. His desire for us to know these thoughts is also the same today. He can see our end and to those who put their hope and trust in Him, it is a beautiful reward in His sight.

MEDITATION

Are you walking today with an understanding that the Lord Himself has specific thoughts about, and intentions for you? The Creator of the Universe has intentions and purpose for your life… yes you! And these intentions are not troublesome, but full of life and hope. Rise up above your circumstances today and put your complete trust in the Lord. His thoughts are on you… are yours on Him?
