Romans 12:21

“Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.“ (NASB)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

“Do not be overcome (nikao: conquered, prevailed over) by evil (kakos: harmful, wicked, ill, bad, troublesome, injurious, destructive), but overcome (nikao: conquer, prevail over) evil with good (agathos: well, beneficial, useful, pleasant, agreeable, joyful, happy, excellent, upright, honorable).“

SUMMARY

Don’t be prevailed over and defeated by evil and harmful things, but conquer and prevail over evil with things that are useful, excellent and upright.

MEDITATION

Defeat and injury abounds in the Body in this hour - many are the wounded all around us. I believe that much of it can be attributed to an errant submission to evil and destructive ways and thoughts. In Christ, you have been made to be more than a conqueror, no longer ruled and lorded over by the evils of this world. Today, rise above your circumstances. In the power of Christ within you, be one who prevails, rather than one is prevailed over.
