“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” (NASB)
STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS
“He who has an ear (ous: the faculty of perceiving with the mind, the faculty of understanding and knowing), let him hear (akouo: hearken, give audience, not deaf, attend to, understand, perceive, comprehend) what the Spirit (pneuma: Holy Ghost, Spirit of God, Spirit of the Lord, Spirit of truth, Spirit of Christ, the third person of the trinity - the God the Holy Spirit) says (lego: speaks, calls, tells, teaches, exhorts, advises, directs, commands) to the churches (ekklesia: assembly, a gathering of called out citizens, a company of those united into one body).”
SUMMARY
He who has the ability to listen, let him hearken to and comprehend what the Spirit speaks and commands to the gathering of those called out that are united in one body.
MEDITATION
Seemingly few seem to realize that the Spirit is still speaking today. Monotony and complacency are the norm and moves of God are too often either man-made or written off as a false reality. I charge you, will you hear what the Spirit is speaking to you today? You don’t have to hear His voice in “conventional”, earthly ways either. We must understand that God is Spirit, therefore we must approach Him as such (John 4:24). This is not some mystical fairy tale, for you too are a spirit, created in His image. Today, begin to walk accordingly.
