“The grass withers, the flower fades, But the word of our God stands forever.” (NASB)
STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS
“The grass withers, the flower fades, But the word (dabar: acts, sayings, commandments, utterances) of our God stands (quwm: established, continues, accomplishes, is confirmed, endures, proven, fulfilled) forever (`owlam: everlasting, perpetual, evermore, always, continuous existence, indefinite or unending future, eternal).”
SUMMARY
The grass and flowers of the earth will dry up, but the acts and utterances of our God are eternally established and fulfilled.
MEDITATION
Today, put as little trust and hope in the withering matters of earth as possible. Seek to hear and speak the eternal words of God that will live on forevermore.
