Psalm 103:10

"He has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor rewarded us according to our iniquities." (NASB)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

"He has not dealt (`asah: done, made, wrought, deal, commitment, offer, executed, kept, shown, worked, performed) with us according to our sins (chet': faults, grievously, offences, guilt for sin), nor rewarded (gamal: dealt bountifully with, done, bestowed, recompensed, served, repaid) us according to our iniquities (`avon: punishment, faults, mischief, sin, perversity, depravity, guilty condition)."

SUMMARY

He has not executed what He should have against us according to our sins and offences, nor has He repaid us according to our sin, perversity and guilty condition.

MEDITATION

Do you ever stop and praise God for what He hasn’t done? Yes, you heard me correctly. I lived the majority of my life in complete disobedience to Him. I still have instances where I choose to walk according to my flesh instead of the freedom that He has given me. Yet He still loves me – He still pursues me. He has not dealt with me as I deserve – Praise You Lord for what You have not done!

Acts 13:52

“And the disciples were continually filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.” (NASB)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

“And the disciples were continually filled (pleroo: be full, complete, filled up, to cause to abound, to furnish or supply liberally) with joy (chara: joy, joyous, joyfulness, gladness) and with the Holy Spirit (hagios pneuma: Holy Ghost, Spirit of God; the spiritual nature of Christ, higher than the highest angels and equal to God, the divine nature of Christ).”

SUMMARY

And the disciples were continually filled up with the Holy Spirit and abounding in joy.

MEDITATION

In the beginnings of the church, the men truly understood what Paul would go on to say later – one must be led by the Spirit. We’ve somehow categorized the Holy Spirit into two categories. He is either for the outlandish “pentecostals” to parade around or he is a virtually indistinguishable entity that no man can understand. I say our view must be a biblical one. The proper role of the Holy Spirit must return to the Body of Christ. Today, ask for knowledge of Who the Spirit truly is – then joy and filling can follow.

Psalm 55:16

"As for me, I shall call upon God, And the LORD will save me." (NASB)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

"As for me, I shall call upon (qara': cry out, call out, utter a loud sound, summon, invite, call for, commission) God, And the LORD will save (yasha`: deliver, help, preserve, salvation, avenging, defend, rescue, safe, victory, liberated, to give victory to) me."

SUMMARY

As for me, I shall utter a loud cry and call out to God and He will deliver and give victory to me.

MEDITATION

What a powerful statement! We cry out at football games and raise our voices to sing out at music concerts yet we rarely, if ever, cry out audibly to God. When the Word says “a loud sound that cries out”, I believe that it is to be taken literally. When you’re in need of rescuing, lay aside the awkwardness and call out to the Lord. In this call, He is summoned and invited to bring you absolute victory and deliverance. Today, let all of heaven and earth know that your victory resides in the Lord alone.

James 4:10

“Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you.”

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

“Humble (tapeinoo: bring or make low, to assign a lower rank or place to, to have a modest opinion of one's self) yourselves in the presence (enopion: sight) of the Lord, and He will exalt (hupsoo: lift up on high, raise to the very summit of opulence and prosperity, to raise to dignity, honor and happiness) you.”

SUMMARY

Set yourself as low before the presence of the Lord and He will lift you up to a place of dignity and honor.

MEDITATION

What a backwards theology this seems to be. When I humble myself and approach God as one understanding that He is the high and lofty One, He exalts me. It is truly amazing that God even chooses to have me in His presence, let alone lift me up to a place of honor. Today, realize that God desires to be the One to raise you up if you’d only approach Him in humility.

John 4:24

"God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth." (NASB)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

"God is spirit (pneuma: a simple essence, devoid of all grosser matter and possessed of the power of knowing, desiring, deciding, and acting; a life giving spirit; the efficient source of any power, affection, emotion, desire, etc.), and those who worship (proskuneo: meaning to kiss, like a dog licking his master's hand; reverence; to fall upon the knees and touch the ground with the forehead as an expression of profound reverence; kneeling or prostration to do homage) Him must worship in spirit and truth (aletheia: what is true in any matter under consideration, opposing to the superstitions of the Gentiles and the inventions of the Jews, and the corrupt opinions and precepts of false teachers even among Christians; free from affection, pretence, falsehood, deceit)."

SUMMARY

God is a life giving spirit that knows no physical bounds. So, in order to worship and bow in reverence to Him, recognizing Him for Who He truly He is, one must do so as spirit not bound to flesh, but in absolute truth free of falsehood and corruption.

MEDITATION

It’s imperative that we understand that we cannot worship the Lord out of our carnal minds and efforts. Praise bands, worship conferences and the latest praise CD’s are not the answer. The Lord will only be worshipped as He desires when His people understand that they must approach Him via the spirit. Otherwise all is futile and corrupted worship that will never make it into the throne room of God. Today, explore what it means to worship the Lord in spirit and truth. It will unlock a whole new world for you, I promise.

Ecclesiastes 7:14a

“In the day of prosperity be happy, But in the day of adversity consider-God has made the one as well as the other.” (KJV)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

“In the day of prosperity (towb: good, better, well, goodness, best, merry, fair, favor) be happy, But in the day of adversity (ra`: evil, wickedness, mischief, hurt, trouble, affliction, grievous, sad) consider-God has made the one as well as the other.”

SUMMARY

Be happy in your days of goodness and favor but remember, when the days of trouble and affliction come, God is the maker of them all.

MEDITATION

Are you one of the kind who, whenever anything goes, what you would deem, bad, you blame the devil and rant and rave about how you’ve been attacked? Well, let this verse encourage you! Every day is the Lord’s and He is the maker of them all. We will have good days filled with joy and we will have bad days riddled with hurt – this my friend is life. In the days of adversity, look to God and thank Him. In the days of trouble, turn your mourning into dancing. In the days of sadness, tell the whole world of His greatness… for He is the maker of one as well as the other.

Romans 11:34

“Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor?” (NASB)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

“Who has known (ginosko: perceived, understood) the mind (nous: faculties of perceiving and understanding, judging, determining, reasoning) of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor (sumboulos: adviser)?”

SUMMARY

Who has understood the reasoning of the Lord? Who has been His advisor and given Him counsel?

MEDITATION

God is so mysterious. Despite gaining understanding of His ways from His Word and from walking with Him, He is still a great mystery to me. He is in no need of advice or assistance for He is all in all. Today, rest in the fact that the Creator of heaven and earth has all under control and yet desires an intimate relationship with you.

Luke 12:34

"For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." (NASB)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

"For where your treasure (thesaurus: place in which good and precious things are collected and laid up; treasury, storehouse, repository) is, there your heart (kardia: the center and seat of all physical and spiritual life) will be also."

SUMMARY

Wherever you store what is precious to you is where the center and seat of what makes you who you are resides.

MEDITATION

In the verse prior to this one, Jesus is addressing the disciples earthly possessions versus their heavenly treasures. Today, He poses the same challenge. What do you personally deem as treasures? Where does your happiness and purpose lie? Is it your job, your church, your house, your car? Today, take some time to assess where your storehouses are, for there you will find where the very center of your entire being dwells.

Proverbs 14:16

"A wise man is cautious and turns away from evil, But a fool is arrogant and careless." (NASB)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

"A wise (chakam: cunning, shrewd, skillful) man is cautious and turns away (cuwr: avoids, departs) from evil (ra`: wickedness, mischief), But a fool (keciyl: simpleton, stupid, dullard) is arrogant and careless."

SUMMARY

A wise and skillful man is cautious and avoids wickedness, but a stupid and foolish man is arrogant and careless.

MEDITATION

After several days of solitude over the last few days, we ventured out into a pretty populated area. Most all were drinking, smoking, yelling while raising arms and pumping fists over football games and, in general, reveling in the flesh. This isn't about judging them or addressing their individual lives, but rather a look at mankind as a whole. Who will see the evils of the flesh and turn away? Who will forsake his own pleasure and personal agenda and seek wisdom? Who will seek the counsel of wisdom and seek the Lord? Will you?

Genesis 1:3

"Then God said, 'Let there be light'; and there was light." (NASB)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

"Then God said ('amar: spoke, commanded, uttered), 'Let there be light'; and there was light."

SUMMARY

This one is pretty self explanatory. God speaks it and it is done.

MEDITATION

As my wife and I were driving before dawn earlier this week, I said to her, "You know what would be crazy? What if God didn't allow the sun to come up today?" We went on to talk for several minutes about how everything from businesses to animal behavior would be affected. I am continually reminded of our frailty and reliance upon God, our Creator. He speaks and it is done. He sets all in order and it is so. All that we, for the most part, take for granted, is all functioning each day under His mighty hand. Today, acknowledge His handiwork and order, for without it chaos would surely reign.

Psalm 111:4

"He has made His wonders to be remembered; the LORD is gracious and compassionate." (NASB)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

"He has made (asah: works, fashioned ) His wonders (pala: great, miracles, hidden things, marvelous and wondrous works) to be remembered; the LORD is gracious (channuwn: show favor, kindness, pity, supplication) and compassionate."

SUMMARY

He has fashioned His marvelous and wondrous works to be remembered; the LORD is full of kindness and compassion.

MEDITATION

Our God is a great God and there is no other like Him! He is full of grace and overwhelming with compassion. His desires and plans for you far surpass what you see and what you know. You are one of His wonders! Yes, you! Today I declare how great is our God and I will tell Him, beginning right now, that I will remember all of His great wonders! Will you join me?

Psalm 66:5

"Come and see the works of God, Who is awesome in His deeds toward the sons of men." (NASB)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

"Come and see the works (miph`al: workings, things made) of God, Who is awesome (yare': terrible, be in fear of, stand in awe of, respect, reverance) in His deeds (`aliylah: actions, inventions, practices)
toward the sons of men."

SUMMARY

Come and see the things made by God's handiwork, Who is worthy of awe and respect in His actions towards us all.

MEDITATION

I sit here typing this beside a beautiful beach, thankful and in awe of God's creation. He is the master Painter, the Sculptor of sculptors - He is the Artist that all artisans draw from. He is all in all. Today, see God in your surroundings. Sometimes it may be easy, sometimes it may take some time, but look and you will see Him all around you.

Mark 10:27

"Looking at them, Jesus said, "With people it is impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God." (NASB)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

"Looking at them, Jesus said, "With people it is impossible (adunatos: impotent, could not do, weak, without strength, powerless, weakly, disabled), but not with God; for all things are possible with God (dunatos: able, powerful, mighty, strong, mighty, excelling in something, having power for something)."

SUMMARY

Looking at them, Jesus said, “People are too weak and powerless, but not God; for God is powerful, strong and mighty to do all things.”

MEDITATION

Again we have a verse that has been thrown around so much that it seems no one really pays attention to what it’s saying. We could simplify this greatly without really altering the point of this text by saying, “God has all of the power to do anything and we don’t.” God is all powerful, He is all-knowing, He is holding all things together with one word from His mouth. So walk confidently today that God, your God, cannot be shaken or thrown off by anything that you approach Him with. How grand are your dreams? How vast are your expectations? If they’re rooted in eternal matters, believe that God is powerful and able to bring them to pass.

Romans 8:37

“But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us.” (NASB)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

“But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer (hupernikao: be more than conqueror, to gain a surpassing victory) through (dia: by; the ground or reason by which something done) Him who loved (agapao: beloved, to welcome, to entertain, to be fond of, to love dearly) us.”

SUMMARY

But in all these things we have overwhelming, surpassing victory because of Him who loved us dearly.
MEDITATION

We’re what? Overwhelming victors! Because of what? Christ’s great love! Today, bask in this love – know this love. This is not some mamby-pamby love, this is powerful love! This is love that breaks all bondages, casts out demons and takes one from death to life. This love is the love of Jesus, The Christ… do you know the depth and the width of this great love? Today, may the excessive love of the Father wash over you throughout all that you do.

Psalm 101:3

“I will set no worthless thing before my eyes; I hate the work of those who fall away; It shall not fasten its grip on me.” (NASB)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

“I will set no worthless (beliya`al: wicked, ungodly, evil, unprofitable) thing before my eyes; I hate the work (`asah: do, make, wrought, work, perform, fashion, produce, effect) of those who fall away (suwt: turn aside, to swerve); It shall not fasten (dabaq: cleave, follow hard, overtake, stick to, abide, catch) its grip on me.”

SUMMARY

I will set no wicked and unprofitable thing before me; I hate what those who turn aside do; It shall not stick to and overtake me!

MEDITATION

In a world of passive Christianity and weak-kneed Believers, I ask, where is this kind of mindset in today’s Body of Christ? If we were to translate this verse to match today’s viewpoint, it would likely say, “I won‘t set too many worthless things before my eyes; Who am I to judge the works of those who fall away? I‘m just like anybody else so it‘s probably coming to me next, after all, I'm just a sinner anyway.“ No! No! No! Be strong in the Lord today my friend! You are to be an overcomer, more than a conqueror - do you even know this? Boldly proclaim what you will and will not do. Today, know who and Whose you are and stand confident against all that comes your way!

Proverbs 23:4

“Do not weary yourself to gain wealth, cease from your consideration of it.” (NASB)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

“Do not weary (yaga`: labor, faint, toil) yourself to gain wealth (`ashar: rich, enrich, richer, pretend to be rich), cease (chadal: forbear, leave, left off, let alone, forsake, rest) from your consideration (biynah: understanding, wisdom, knowledge) of it.”

SUMMARY

Don’t labor and grow weary in order to gain riches – leave it alone and rest from even considering it.

MEDITATION

I guess “name it and claim it’s” have been around since Jesus’ day, but we still don’t seem to get it, do we? "Give your tithes and offerings, expect triple return. Give of yourself by teaching Sunday School class and God will give to you." Friends, God desires you to be a son, a daughter, not a robotic servant with errant motives. Seek to give ALL of you because He is worthy, because all of Him is what He has given to you. Today, if you “serve”, serve Him out of a pure heart and mind. Forsake earthly gain, recognition and “blessing” for being in right relationship with the Lord is all the blessing one needs.

Psalm 11:7

VERSE

“For the LORD is righteous, He loves righteousness; The upright will behold His face.” (NASB)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

“For the LORD is righteous (tsaddiyq: just, lawful, right, correct), He loves righteousness (tsedaqah: justice, right, righteous acts, truthfulness); The upright (yashar: right, righteous, straight, correct, pleasing, straightforward, fitting, proper) will behold (chazah: see, look, perceive) His face (paniym: before, presence, countenance, person).”

SUMMARY

For the LORD is righteous and just, He loves justice and truthfulness. The straioght and righteous will look and see His countenance.

MEDITATION

God alone is perfect and holy. All of His judgment and His acts are righteous. No matter what you see or hear in days to come, it is imperative that you establish now your absolute trust in Him. The Word states that the days are getting darker – you must be rooted in the Light in order to avoid distraction and lawlessness. Today, live upright before the Lord and expect to see His glorious face.

Genesis 3:9

"Then the LORD God called to the man, and said to him, ‘Where are you?’." (NASB)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

"Then the LORD God called (qara': summoned, inviteds, cried out) to the man, and said to him, ‘Where are you?’."

SUMMARY

Then the LORD God called out to invite the man to talk with Him, and said to him, “Where are you”?

MEDITATION

A simple truth jumped out at me this morning when I read this verse. After all of these years since God created Adam, He is still calling out to him. After man’s sin, blatant disobedience and even deliberate disregard for their Creator, God still wants to walk with His creation. Today, see your Creator. Thank Him for His great love and pursuit of you. Don’t hide from Him today, run to Him and allow the Creator to know His creation.

Mark 10:15

“Truly I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it at all.” (NASB)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

“Truly I say to you, whoever does not receive (dechomai: take, accept, take up, take hold of, receive favourably, give ear to, embrace, make one's own, approve, not to reject, take upon one's self) the kingdom (basileia: royal power, kingship, dominion, rule) of God like a child will not enter (eiserchomai: go in, enter into) it at all.”

SUMMARY

Whoever doesn’t accept and embrace the kingship and dominion of God like a child will not enter into it at all.

MEDITATION

We’ve become a people of knowledge but have forsaken approaching God humbly as a child, in need of His teaching and wisdom. Our intellect and abilities mean nothing in the Kingdom! We must approach it like a child, in desperate need of a Father. Today, allow The Christ, the Ruler of the Kingdom to be established within you. Live as one set apart for the Kingdom.

Matthew 6:34

“So do not be anxious for tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." (NASB)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

“So do not be anxious (merimnao: take thought, care, be careful, troubled with cares) for tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble (kakia: malice, maliciousness, evil, wickedness, ill-will, desire to injure, wickedness, depravity) of its own."

SUMMARY

Don’t be troubled with the things of tomorrow, for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble and wickedness of its own.

MEDITATION

If you’re like me, you like to know where you’re headed. While a lot of times this is beneficial, sometimes you can get so fixated on what is to come that you lose sight of what is before you. Today, praise the Lord for where you are right now. Address what lays before you via the Spirit and trust that God has all that is to come in complete control.

Romans 13:14

“But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh in regard to its lusts.” (NASB)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

“But put on (enduo: be clothed with, clothed in, have on, arrayed in) the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision (pronoia: forethought, providential care, consideration) for the flesh (sarx: human nature, the earthly nature of man apart from divine influence, and therefore prone to sin and opposed to God) in regard to its lusts (epithumia: desires, lusting after, craving, longing, desires for what is forbidden).”

SUMMARY

Clothe yourself in the Lord Jesus Christ and don’t even consider or think about your fleshly desires that long for what opposes God.

MEDITATION

Now this is a verse that we can all surely use today! In a world that attempts to cater to your flesh’s every need, it is time to make no room for it. I’ve had something in my life that held me bound and oppressed for the majority of my days, yet I am now victorious over it because I no longer even allow the thought of it to dwell within me. Today, deliberatley decide to put on Christ and make sure that you give no time for thoughts of doubt, fear and sin to find a home in you. In Christ, you are now a holy dwelling where He abides - keep your house clean!

Proverbs 4:26

“Watch the path of your feet and all your ways will be established.” (NASB)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

“Watch (palac: ponder, weigh, make level) the path (ma`gal: trench, goings, ways, track) of your feet and all your ways will be established (kuwn: prepared, readied, provided, right, fixed, directed, ordered, fashioned, arranged, settled).”

SUMMARY

Pay close attention to and make level the path of your feet and all your ways will be ordered and right.

MEDITATION

Keep your eyes open today! Walk aware and alert of where you’re headed. It is time for God’s people to wake up from their slumber! Scores of so-called followers of Christ are seemingly walking blind throughout their lives. May it not be so for you today! Walk according to the spirit, not according to your flesh - this is how you make level your path. I say “Wake up o’ sleeper!” Arise and see with open eyes all that God is doing upon this earth and your role in it!

Psalm 19:7

“The law of the LORD is perfect, restoring the soul; The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.” (NASB)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

“The law (towrah: direction, instruction) of the LORD is perfect (tamiym: without blemish, upright, without spot, uprightly, whole, complete, sound, complete or entirely in accord with truth and fact), restoring the soul; The testimony (`eduwth: witness) of the LORD is sure ('aman: faithful, sure, established, verified), making wise (chakam: to be wise) the simple (pethiy: simple ones, foolish, simplicity, naive).”

SUMMARY

The Law of the Lord is entirely perfect and complete truth, restoring the soul; the testimony and witness of the Lord is faithful and established, making wise the simple, naïve ones.

MEDITATION

Recently, several people have asked me how I understand and explain the Word the way that I do. My response could not be more simple - it is my daily choosing to live by the Spirit, diligently seeking the Lord and spending time in His Word. You see, the law of the Lord and our love for it is powerful - it is creative - it is alive! I am simple and foolish in my own efforts and intellect. But by seeking things above, not earthly things, my mind is renewed and literally conformed into the mind of Christ. Again, it is the Word simply being the Word. I encourage you today to step out and truly LIVE the Word. It is true, it is real, it is more alive than any other thing you could ever know.

1 Thessalonians 5:3

“While they are saying, ‘Peace and safety!’ then destruction will come upon them suddenly like labor pains upon a woman with child, and they will not escape." (NASB)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

“While they are saying, ‘Peace and safety!’ then destruction (olethros: ruin, destroy, death) will come upon them suddenly (aphides: unawares, unexpected, unforeseen) like labor pains upon a woman with child, and they will not escape (ekpheugo: flee, seek safety in flight)."

SUMMARY

While everyone is saying all is well, destruction will come upon them suddenly like labor pains upon a woman with child, and they will not be able to flee and find safety.

MEDITATION

I’ve been having extremely vivid dreams lately that are centered around “end times” events. They are often so different than what I perceive them to be in my carnal mind. I believe with my entire being that God is challenging me to be a watchman in this hour and speak of what is inevitably coming. The sleeping church must rise from her slumber and see! Friends, I implore you, you must be ready. Make every effort to place your solace, your security in God alone. All else will absolutely fail.

Luke 11:28

“But He said, ‘On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God and observe it.’" (NASB)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

“But He said, ‘On the contrary, blessed (makarios: well off, happy, supremely blessed) are those who hear (akouo: hearken, give audience, to attend to, consider, understand, perceive, comprehend) the word of God and observe (phulasso: keep, guard, keep watch, to guard for one's self so as not to violate) it.'"

SUMMARY

Jesus said, “Supremely blessed are those who hearken and consider the word of God and keep it, without violation.”

MEDITATION

Let me ask you something. Do you crave the Word of God? Do you, out of desire and passion spend time in it? Of course the common response is, “I just don’t have the time, but I’d like to.” Well I’m encouraging you this morning to go beyond an “I’d like to”. Do you watch television? If so, turn it off. Do you spend hours a week online? Sign on, do what you need and sign off. It is time we forsake so many worldly distractions and take the time to know the Word of God. And when you do, remember, it is about observing it. In other words, it makes no difference if you read it or not if you won’t be obedient to it. Observe His Word today and you will be blessed.

Hebrews 10:14

“For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified.” (NASB)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

“For by one offering (prosphora: offering up, offered, a gift, a present, sacrifice) He has perfected (teleioo: make perfect, finish, fulfill, be perfect, consecrated, complete, to carry through completely, to accomplish, bring to an end; add what is yet wanting in order to render a thing full; bring to a close or fulfillment by event) for all time those who are sanctified (hagiazo: hallow, be holy; to separate from profane things and dedicate and consecrate things to God; free from the guilt of sin, to purify internally by renewing of the soul).”

SUMMARY

For by one sacrifice, Jesus the Christ has fulfilled and made perfect for all time, those who are holy and separated, free from guilt, consecrated to God.

MEDITATION

What a powerful verse this is! Christ’s one offering of Himself has perfected me forever! Now I live holy and purified - consecrated to God. Today, lay hold of this great Truth - hold your head up high and know who you are, for you have been perfected once and for all.

2 Timothy 2:13

“If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself.” (NASB)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

“If we are faithless (apisteo: believing not, to betray a trust, unfaithful, disbelieving), He remains faithful (pistos: believing, true, sure, reliable), for He cannot deny (anemia: refuse, disregard his own interests or prove false to) Himself.”

SUMMARY

Even when we are unfaithful and untrustworthy, He remains always faithful for He cannot disregard and refuse Himself which indwells us.

MEDITATION

What comfort it is to know that God will never abandon or disown you! He doesn’t possess faithfulness, He is faithful by definition. Even when you choose to go your own way and leave God out of the picture, He doesn’t do likewise. He is forever true and reliable. May this never mean that we take it lightly and abuse this fact, but instead, may we desire even more so to be deemed faithful in His eyes.

Proverbs 4:27

“Do not turn to the right nor to the left; Turn your foot from evil.” (NASB)

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

“Do not turn (natah: incline, influence, bend or bow down, hold out, extend, thrust aside, thrust away) to the right nor to the left; Turn your foot from evil (ra`: wickedness, mischief, hurt, bad, trouble, affliction, adversity, harm).”

SUMMARY

Don’t turn and be moved to the right or to the left but turn your foot from evil and wickedness that leads to trouble and affliction.

MEDITATION

The Word often reminds us to stay on the straight path, never allowing ourselves to become distracted. We must take this to heart and walk accordingly. Today, put on your spiritual blinders and keep your gaze fixed upon the Lord. Don’t even take one step towards evil for it is a snare that will only bring you harm and troubles.

STRONGS HEBREW/GREEK ORIGINS

“Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do (poieo: make, bring forth, commit, cause, work, show, fulfill, perform), do all to the glory (doxa: glorious, honor, praise, dignity, worship) of God.”

SUMMARY

Whatever you do, do absolutely everything in praise, honor and worship of the one true God!

MEDITATION

I wanted to keep it as simple as possible this morning and this ought to do it. Since today is a holiday, simply BE Christ as you go throughout your day. Whether you travel to see friends and family or simply lounge around your house, give God the glory for it all. He is worthy and deserving of our entire lives.
